One week and counting

What does "one" have in common with this blog? Well, as of today we have "one" week left before we leave for Atlanta and then to California. It also looks as if "one" other person has left a comment on one of the posts below. That's okay, "one" is better than none.

Anyway, it is down to one week. One week and our family will be leaving to spend the night in Atlanta and then wake up Monday, June 2 and fly to San Fran and then be picked up on a van for San Jose.

Wow, just seemed like yesterday our spring season was getting underway in Florida in late January. Time flies when you are having fun!

As our departure times grow closer I just want to thank the numerous individuals that have provided financial support for this trip. Without that support this trip would not be possible. Thank you also to everyone that is praying and will be praying for us over the next two months. Keep sending those prayers out daily.

Life is good and God is even better. He has provided for all our needs and I see that on a daily basis. It's funny, sometimes you have to stand still and let God show you the doors He wants open. It's tough, because so many times we have that internal desire to go our own way and hope God follows us along the route. I heard a song this morning at Church about standing still. I should probably try that more often and see what God has in store.

I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day. Whatever you might be doing tomorrow try and stop for a few minutes and thank God for freedom and remember all the brave men and women that fought for our freedom at some point in history. I get all wound up just thinking about being away from my comfort zone for two months, just imagine those in our military that are away for years at a time, fighting for our protection and the freedom of others. Lee Greenwood said it best....."I am proud to be an American....."

Mike,

We are proud of you and your family as you venture on this trip together. SWU is proud to have 'one' member of our body representing God, family and their school in Alaska.

You have stood still and have listened to God...Taking this trip is a great exanple of how he has already stretched you beyond what you may have thought you could do.

As you prepare I will continue to pray that God will send you a person to meet while on this trip. I pray that you will help that person become closer to God. I also will continue to pray that you and your family will become 'one' during this trip and even after your return!

This 'one' guy is proud of you and will continue to pray for you, your family, those you meet, and AIA.

Willie
